Privacy Policy

Last updated October 11, 2026

This is an early draft describing how Homufy actually handles data today. It has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel and may change as the platform grows.

1. What we collect

  • Account information: your name, email, phone number, and password.
  • Identity verification: a government-issued ID, and for lessors, property ownership or authorization documents, used to confirm who you are before you can book or list.
  • Booking and payment details: booking dates, amounts, and payment references from GCash, Maya, or your bank. Homufy does not store your full card or bank account numbers — those are handled by our payment partners.
  • Listing content: photos, descriptions, and location details a lessor adds for a property.
  • Usage data: device and browser information, pages visited, and actions taken on Homufy, used to keep the platform secure and working correctly.

2. How we use it

  • To create and secure your account, and verify your identity.
  • To process bookings, payments, and payouts.
  • To show lessees a listing's lessor details and lessors a lessee's booking details, only as needed to complete a booking.
  • To review reports, investigate fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To respond to support requests and send booking-related notifications.

3. Who we share it with

We share only what's needed to complete a booking: a lessee sees a lessor's verified name and contact details (and vice versa) once a booking is confirmed. We also share information with payment processors (GCash, Maya, our banking partner) to process payments, and with service providers who help us run Homufy (e.g. hosting, email delivery) under confidentiality obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

4. When Homufy reviews a booking's messages

Booking messages are private between the lessee and lessor. If a problem reported on a booking can't be settled between the two of you and is escalated to Homufy, our team may read that booking's messages, photos and files to resolve it. Both of you are told when this happens. Access is limited to the escalated booking, used only to resolve the problem, and every access is logged, in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).

5. Identity documents

Government IDs and ownership documents are used solely to verify identity and are never shown to other users. Access is limited to our internal verification team and is logged.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account and booking records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, to meet legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. You can request deletion of your account at any time (see Your rights, below); some booking records may be retained where required by law.

7. Your rights

You can access, update, or request deletion of your personal information from your account settings, or by emailing support@homufy.com. We'll respond to verified requests within a reasonable time.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technology to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (like dark mode), and understand how Homufy is used so we can improve it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted connections, access controls, and restricted internal access to sensitive data — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage using a strong, unique password.

10. Children

Homufy is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from minors.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Homufy evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "last updated" date.
